(07-10-08) True to his word, Rep. Dennis Kucinich, former Democratic Party Presidential candidate, offered an impeachment resolution on the house floor again today. Despite an organized noise campaign by Republicans, Kucinich was able to offer the bill. This time Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, hinted that she might allow the House Judiciary Committee to hear the evidence. Several efforts earlier this year were met with a stone wall of obstruction from Republicans as well as the Democratic leaders. In an exclusive interview with the Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper, Dennis Kucinich told editors this afternoon(1-24-08) that he will drop out of the Presidential race by holding a news conference on Friday in Cleveland. Kucinich says he will have more to say on Thursday but indicated he wants to stay in Congress; however he has incurred the wrath of leaders in the Democratic Party and is being challenged for his seat by at least four other Democrats. Could he be switching to an Independent or Green Party ticket?

Recently Jerry interviewed Elizabeth Kucinich, wife of Congressman Dennis Kucinich, during a stopover in Las Vegas for the Presidential debate. Kucinich used a procedural movement to introduce HR 333 on the House floor in an effort to expose Democratic party leaders who have refused to get onto the Impeachment bandwagon.

Even though House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her assistant Steny Hoyer made every effort to prevent the bill from being brought forward and tried to table it when it was, their efforts were unsuccessful.

The effort to impeach Dick Cheney is still alive, as the bill was sent to the House Judiciary Committee for further study.

In this radio interview, Mrs. Kucinich says her husband hopes everyone who feels Cheney should be impeached will take the time to contact members of the Judiciary Committee and demand a hearing on this bill.

Rep. Wexler Will Urge the Judiciary Committee to Hold Immediate Hearings on Impeachment

Wed, 2007-11-07 20:48. Congress Rep. Robert Wexler sent his constituents this beautiful and admirable Email today: As a person who supports holding this Administration accountable for their deceptive actions, you may be interested to know about the recent votes in the House regarding H.Res. 333, "Impeaching Richard B. Cheney, Vice President of the United States, for high crimes and misdemeanors."

I share your belief that Vice President Cheney must answer for his deceptive actions in office, particularly with regard to the preparations for the Iraq war and the revelation of the identity of covert agent Valerie Plame Wilson as part of political retribution against her husband. That is why I voted against the motion to table debate on H.Res. 333. Along with only 85 other Democrats, I opposed tabling the measure and supported beginning immediate debate and a vote on the Cheney impeachment resolution. The vote on tabling the Kucinich resolution was rejected, and the House subsequently voted to refer the matter to the Judiciary Committee.

Vice President Dick Cheney and the Bush Administration have demonstrated a consistent pattern of abusing the law and misleading Congress and the American people. We see the consequences of these actions abroad in Iraq and at home through the violations of our civil liberties. The American people are served well with a legitimate and thorough impeachment inquiry. I will urge the Judiciary Committee to schedule impeachment hearings immediately and not let this issue languish as it has over the last six months. Only through hearings can we bring begin to correct the abuses of Dick Cheney and the Bush Administration; and, if it is determined in these hearings that Vice President Cheney has committed High Crimes and Misdemeanors, he should be impeached and removed from office. It is time for Congress to expose the multitude of misdeeds of the Administration, and I am hopeful that the Judiciary Committee will expeditiously begin an investigation of this matter.

Bush Press Prostitutes Play UFO Card in Effort to Derail Impeachment Train

NBC anchors Brian Williams and Tim Russert meticulously avoided following up on Congressman Dennis Kucinich's three references to impeachment but somehow found time to grill the contenders on UFOs .

Congressman Dennis Kucinich will act, stay on track, and bring up next week a privileged resolution on the House floor to bring articles of impeachment against Vice President Dick Cheney.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, continues to say that impeachment is "off the table." We suggest you email Congressman Kucinich (http://kucinich.house.gov/contact/) (Phone 216-228-8850) and Ms. Pelosi at (sf.nancy@mail.house.gov) let you them know that it "may be off the table" but you want it on House floor now.

When the American Research Group conducted a national survey in early July of this year, it found that 54 percent of American adults wanted the House to begin impeachment proceedings against Cheney — with 76 percent of Democrats, 51 percent of independents and a striking 17 percent of Republicans favoring the step Time magazine surveyed Americans in the late spring of 1974, after the Watergate scandal had evolved into a full-scale crisis of confidence in Nixon's presidency, only 43 percent favored impeachment.

Kucinich introduced articles of impeachment against Cheney several months ago, and his H. Res. 333 has attracted almost two dozen co-sponsors. All Democrats, they are Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), Robert Brady (D-PA), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-MO), Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN), Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN), Rep. Sam Farr (D-CA), Rep. Bob Filner (D-CA), Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX), Rep. Henry Johnson (D-GA), Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-MI), Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA), Rep. James Moran (D-VA), Rep. Donald Payne (D-NJ), Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), Rep. Edolphus Towns (D-NY), Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), Rep. Diane Watson (D-CA), Rep. Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) and Rep. Albert Wynn (D-MD)

How will this work? Pelosi will try to table it and may succeed, but if it is introduced, a privileged resolution must be addressed within two legislative days. The vote could well fail, but it will identify those who stand for Bush Business as usual. Torture, war and an unbelievable track record of graft, theft and malfeasance. It is succeeds then hearings will reveal the depth of the fraud, the theft and the Un-American behavior patterns pushed by Mr. Bush and the Neo - Con Boys.
